They divide their time between their family of two daughters, one grandson, consulting, and entrepreneurial ventures. Prior to starting their consulting company in 1979, Alan's experience included the management positions for Hunt Wesson and Mattel (both Fortune 500 companies). His recent consulting has included service as interim chief executive officer, corporate development, new business fund raising and technology strategic partnerships. Their consulting company originally was involved in offering forecasting computer software and programming services. The forecasting software involved on-line computer data bases and international computer networks. Helen was responsible for the coordination and delivery of three day training seminars for corporations and government organizations in Washington DC and San Francisco. She also coordinated the ongoing delivery of programming services for commercial activities related to the Rockwell B1 project. The Cameron's were co-founders and early investors in Basic Bio Systems and assisted in the raising of $1 million in early stage equity financing. Both Monsanto and Stiefel Pharmaceuticals have recently become equity investors in this company. He negotiated a pioneering R&D contract with Otsuka Chemical, Japan for use of the Basic Bio technology. The Cameron's were the co-founders of Mega Group Inc. Beginning with a $40,000 cash investment from a R&D Limited Partnership, they built this software company into a $4 million per year business with over 200 IBM mainframe corporate clients in the US and overseas. Mega Group Inc. was purchased in 1986 by Computer Associates (a NYSE company). Alan was the CEO of UDM Technologies, an early stage CASE software company. He was instrumental in the re- positioning of the company and its acquisition by KnowledgeWare Inc. (a NYSE company). Alan was Corporate Director of Systems and Procedures, Mattel Inc. and held various management and technical positions at Hunt Wesson and American Stores. Alan has been a member of SOCALTEN biotechnology and entrepreneurial CEO networks. He has a Ph.D. and M.Eng.Sc. from Monash University and a B.Sc. from Sydney University, Australia. Helen is the recipient of the 1987 Orange County Sales and Marketing Executives Women of Achievement Award for High Technology. Helen is a former President and Board Member, Irvine Unified School District Board of Education. This nationally recognized school district has a $90 million operating budget, 30 schools and educates over 20,000 students. She won city-wide elections in 1983 and 1987. She has been chosen in 1991 as the Outstanding School Board Member in the State of California for Vocational Special Education. She is the former President of the Irvine Unified School District Board of Education. She received the 1992 Irvine Valley Community College community award for her work in promoting partnerships in education. Helen is the Secretary and Member of the Board of Directors, Industrial League of Orange County. This county wide organization represents 900 companies and 150,000 employees. Helen was a former Board Member and President, Coastline Regional Occupation Program, 1989-1992. This is a five school district consortium focused on career and job training for adults and high school students. She is the former President and Founder, Irvine Education Foundation, a Board Member and former President, Boys & Girls Club of Irvine.
